Map of Places Significant to Métis in British Columbia

This map shows places of significance to Metis people or where Metis have made a significant contribution to the development of British Columbia.

The Flags represent a growing list of communities in BC where Metis have made a significant impact in the area.

The Flowers are stops made on the 1841 Sinclair expedition which was led by the Metis James Sinclair. It started in Red River and finished in HBC Columbia district in Fort Vancouver in what is present day Oregon. Sinclair's expedition was one of the first overland expeditions across the Rockies and many places along the Journey are named in his honor including Whiteman Pass and Mt. Sinclair.
